POSITION SUMMARY:

The Contract Manager is responsible for the full lifecycle management of contracts within Hendry County’s Contract Management Department. This role ensures that all county contracts are developed, executed, and monitored in compliance with applicable laws, policies, and funding requirements. The Contract Manager serves as a key liaison between departments, vendors, and external agencies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Contract Lifecycle Management

Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, amendments, and renewals.

Ensure timely execution and proper documentation of all contracts.

Maintain a centralized contract repository and tracking system.

Compliance & Risk Mitigation

Ensure contracts comply with Florida Statutes, especially Chapter 287.

Monitor contract performance and enforce compliance with terms and conditions.

Identify and mitigate contractual risks.

Procurement Coordination

Collaborate & oversees the issuance of RFPs, RFQs, and ITBs with Procurement and any other associated departments.

Participate in vendor evaluations and selection processes.

Financial Oversight

Track contract budgets, expenditures, and funding sources.

Review and approve invoices and payment requests in coordination with Finance.

Reporting & Documentation

Prepare regular reports on contract status, performance, and compliance.

Ensure documentation meets audit and grant requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement

Serve as the primary point of contact for contract-related inquiries.

Coordinate with internal departments, vendors, and legal counsel

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

Performs directed duties as directed.

Responds to work during a declared state of disaster.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in public administration, Business, Finance, or related field preferred but not required.

3+ years of experience in contract management, preferably in government.

Knowledge of Florida procurement laws and grant compliance.

FCCM certification preferred.

Strong organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Typical office equipment.

ANTICIPATED STARTING PAY:

Starting annual pay is a minimum of $60,000 and may be higher depending on experience, expertise, skills and knowledge. This is a full-time position that includes County medical benefits and State Retirement.
