Contract Manager / Associate Contract Engineer

Job Purpose:

Manage high-value project contracts by leading procurement, negotiations, and contract administration activities. Provide advanced guidance on claims and dispute resolution while ensuring compliance with international standards and protecting project-level commercial interests.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead tendering, procurement, and award processes for major projects.
  • Negotiate contract terms with contractors and consultants to secure favourable outcomes.
  • Provide project managers with expert advice on claims, variations, and contractual risks.
  • Manage contract execution and ensure contractor performance is tracked against agreed KPIs.
  • Oversee project-level compliance with organizational policies, legal frameworks, and international standards (e.g., FIDIC).
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies for project-specific contractual and financial risks.
  • Drive project cost control, forecasting, and commercial reporting.
  • Represent the project team in negotiations, mediations, and contractor engagements.
  • Mentor and support mid-level professionals to build commercial capability..

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Law, Quantity Surveying, or related field; postgraduate qualification preferred.
  • Over 10 years’ experience in contract management, including major project delivery.
  • Strong expertise in procurement, claims, and dispute resolution.
  • Proficiency in contract management systems, ERP platforms, and advanced MS Office.
  • Familiarity with international contract forms (e.g., FIDIC, NEC)..
