Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Negotiator to join our sales & procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of contract negotiations, ensuring compliance with legal standards, and fostering strong vendor relationships. This role requires a strategic thinker with expertise in procurement, experience with approaching major corporate decisionmakers, and contract management to support business development initiatives and safeguard organizational interests.
Duties
- Lead contract negotiations with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to secure favorable terms and mitigate risks.
- Manage document workflows using systems such as DocuSign, Salesforce, PeopleSoft, and ERP platforms for efficient contract processing.
- Ensure adherence to federal regulations including Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and UCC law where applicable.
- Maintain accurate records of all contractual documents and correspondence through effective document management practices.
- Collaborate with business development teams on proposal writing, pricing strategies, and strategic planning to support growth initiatives.
- Monitor contract performance and enforce contractual obligations through contractor management and vendor management practices.
- Assist in implementing procurement strategies that align with organizational goals while managing risk exposure.
- Support the review of contracts during change management processes to ensure continued compliance and value realization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or related field; advanced legal or procurement certifications preferred.
- Proven experience in contract negotiation, procurement, vendor management, and legal drafting within a corporate or government setting.
- Strong knowledge of UCC law, FAR regulations, federal acquisition procedures, and compliance management.
- Proficiency with Salesforce, DocuSign, PeopleSoft, ERP systems, and other contract management tools.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of securing advantageous contractual terms.
- Exceptional document review skills with attention to detail in legal drafting and records management.
- Ability to conduct thorough research on complex legal topics such as intellectual property law and technical writing requirements.
- Strong strategic planning capabilities combined with effective proposal writing and pricing skills.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate across departments including business development and legal teams.
