Contract Social Media & Content Specialist for Startup Ice Cream Brand

About Bovella Dairy

Bovella Dairy is a new Colorado real dairy, lactose-free ice cream brand made with organic Colorado milk.

We are building a premium CPG brand from the ground up, and we are looking for someone who can help capture and tell the story in a way that feels real, visual, and interesting.

This is not just a remote “make a few Canva posts” role.

The right person will be excited to actually be around the business: in the kitchen on production days, at farmers markets, out at the farm, around the product, around the people, and around the behind-the-scenes work of building a food brand.

The best content will come from someone who is curious enough to learn the business from the inside.

Who This Role Could Be For

This role could be a fit for two different types of people:

Entry-level / internship fit: $20/hour

This could be a good fit if you are early in your social media, marketing, content, or communications career and want hands-on experience with a real startup CPG brand. You may not have a big portfolio yet, but you are eager, creative, reliable, active on social media, and excited to learn.

You should be comfortable filming on an iPhone, helping capture behind-the-scenes content, organizing clips/photos, learning brand voice, and showing up in person when content is happening.

Experienced contractor fit: $25–$35/hour

The higher end of the range is for someone who already has relevant experience and can bring more value right away. This may include short-form video editing, content strategy, Reels/TikTok experience, food/CPG content, photography, copywriting, content calendars, influencer outreach, analytics, or previous work with restaurants, food brands, farms, markets, startups, or lifestyle brands.

If you are asking for the higher end of the range, please be ready to show examples of your work and explain what you can own without needing a lot of direction.

What You May Help With

Responsibilities may include:

  • Capturing photo and video content during production days
  • Filming behind-the-scenes content in commercial kitchens
  • Capturing content at farmers markets, sampling events, and retail moments
  • Occasionally joining farm visits to capture dairy/farm/story content
  • Creating short-form videos for Instagram Reels and TikTok
  • Editing videos, captions, and posts
  • Helping organize photos/videos into usable folders
  • Helping plan weekly or monthly content ideas
  • Turning production moments into social content
  • Helping tell the Bovella story in a way that feels real, not overly polished
  • Supporting Instagram, TikTok, and other social channels
  • Spotting content opportunities while we work
  • Helping create simple brand storytelling around flavors, ingredients, lactose-free dairy, organic milk, and local production
  • Potentially helping with email, website copy, influencer outreach, market/event content, or customer/community engagement as the brand grows

This Role Is For Someone Who

  • Loves social media and understands what feels current
  • Has a good eye for food, people, lifestyle, and behind-the-scenes moments
  • Is excited by local food, organic dairy, farmers markets, startups, or CPG brands
  • Is willing to show up in person to capture real content
  • Can shoot usable content on an iPhone or camera
  • Can write captions that sound human
  • Can learn the brand voice over time
  • Is organized with files, notes, and deadlines
  • Can take direction and also bring ideas
  • Notices interesting moments without needing everything spelled out
  • Is excited to learn the business, not just post about it from the outside

This Is Probably Not For You If

  • You only want fully remote work
  • You do not want to attend production days, markets, events, or farm/content days
  • You only want to make graphics and schedule posts
  • You are uncomfortable filming in real work environments
  • You are not interested in food, farms, farmers markets, or small business
  • You need constant direction to know what to capture
  • You are not comfortable with flexible/project-based work

Experience Helpful But Not Required

Helpful experience includes:

  • Instagram Reels or TikTok
  • Social media content creation
  • Short-form video editing
  • Food, beverage, CPG, restaurant, bakery, coffee, farmers market, or lifestyle content
  • Photography or videography
  • Canva, CapCut, Adobe, Lightroom, or similar tools
  • Caption writing or copywriting
  • Influencer or creator outreach
  • Email marketing or website updates
  • Startup, small business, or local brand experience

Schedule

This is part-time, project-based work. Hours will vary depending on production days, market days, content needs, and upcoming brand projects.

Some work can be done remotely, but this role requires in-person availability. Production days, markets, events, and farm visits are where a lot of the best content will happen.

There may be potential for more consistent work as Bovella grows.
