Contract to hire: 3D Medical Animator

Tipping Point Media is seeking a (Contract to hire) 3D Animator to join our award-winning team. You’ll collaborate with our creative directors, instructional designers, and medical writers to bring complex science, devices, and patient experiences to life through immersive visual storytelling. This role is central to creating dynamic, experiential learning and training solutions that engage healthcare professionals, patients, and global audiences.

 Responsibilities

• Translate complex medical and scientific concepts into visually engaging storyboards, style frames, and animations.
• Develop high-quality 2D/3D assets and medical animations (offline and real-time) for interactive applications including VR, AR, Simulations, eLearning, and training workshop assets.
• Ensure all visualizations are scientifically accurate, medically compliant, and aligned with client needs.
• Collaborate with XR developers to integrate 3D assets into Unity or Unreal Engine for interactive simulations.
• Push creative boundaries to design best-in-class visual experiences that educate and inspire.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3–5+ years of professional 3D medical animation experience.
• Strong artistic eye, attention to detail, and design sensibility.
• Proficiency in Blender or Cinema 4D and experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects).
• Experience preparing assets for real-time rendering and interactive platforms.
• Ability to conduct independent research on medical topics, including anatomy, physiology, cellular/molecular biology, and disease mechanisms.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred / Plus Skills

• Certified Medical Illustrator (CMI).
• Experience with Substance Painter/Designer for advanced texturing.
• Familiarity with Unity3D and/or Unreal Engine pipelines.
• Skills in advanced rigging, character animation, lighting, and photoreal rendering.
• Interest in immersive technologies: VR, AR, XR, gaming, and interactive storytelling.
• Knowledge of the latest Generative AI tools (Sora 2 - Veo 3 - Wan 2.5 - Kling 2.5 - Weavy.ai )
• Lives in the Philly Area, big plus!!
