Job Description

We’re looking for a local videographer / video editor to help us film and edit a series of founder-led course videos tied to our upcoming book release this fall.

We’re the founders of Self-Care Is For Everyone (SCIFE), a mental health advocacy brand built around meaningful reminders, emotional wellness, and human connection. As we prepare for our next chapter, we’re creating educational video content that will expand on the ideas in our upcoming book and help people engage with the material in a deeper, more personal way.

We expect to film most of this content from our home, where we have a few spaces that can work well as clean, warm, well-lit backdrops for lessons and conversations.

We’re looking for someone who understands how to make at-home content feel elevated — someone who can confidently shape a shot, capture clean audio, and edit in a style that feels thoughtful, polished, and intimate. The goal is MasterClass-inspired quality on a realistic budget.

This is not a big studio production. It’s two founders/writers creating meaningful content from home and looking for the right creative partner to help us bring it to life beautifully and efficiently.

What We’re Looking For

We want someone who can help us create course content that feels:

  • warm
  • polished
  • intimate
  • professional
  • grounded
  • visually clean
  • easy to watch

You should be comfortable:

  • filming in a home environment
  • setting up flattering, intentional shots
  • capturing strong, reliable audio
  • helping create a calm and premium visual feel without overcomplicating the production
  • editing educational content in a way that feels engaging and elevated

We’re especially interested in someone familiar with the feel of MasterClass-style content, while understanding that this will be produced with a much leaner setup and budget.

Responsibilities

  • Film course and lesson content in our home
  • Help choose and optimize the best filming areas/backgrounds
  • Set up camera, lighting, framing, and audio in a way that feels polished and consistent
  • Capture founder-led talking-head lessons, conversation-based content, and B-roll/detail & activity shots
  • Monitor and record clean audio
  • Edit footage into polished lesson videos
  • Apply clean, tasteful pacing and edits that support learning and watchability
  • Potentially help us create repeatable filming setups for future course shoots
  • Organize and deliver final edited files

Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for someone who:

  • has experience with educational content, course content, interview content, or YouTube-style talking head videos
  • can make a home setup look strong and intentional
  • knows how to prioritize audio quality, framing, and lighting
  • understands how to direct or guide non-professional-on-camera talent in a supportive way
  • is detail-oriented and self-sufficient on shoot days
  • can create a polished feel without needing a large crew
  • is local to South Jersey / Philadelphia / nearby New Jersey areas

Style We’re Going For

Think:

  • MasterClass-inspired
  • thoughtful and cinematic, but not overproduced
  • warm and human
  • clean, premium-looking home production
  • calm pacing
  • strong sound
  • a visually inviting environment
  • helpful graphics or text only where they truly improve the lesson

We want the content to feel elevated, but still personal and real — like founders teaching from their own life and home, not a generic studio set.

Deliverables

Project scope may include:

  • multiple lesson videos filmed in batches
  • polished edits for course delivery
  • possible intro/outro videos
  • possible short clips or promotional assets pulled from course footage

Please include in your application:

  • links to relevant video work
  • examples of educational, interview, talking-head, documentary, or polished home-shot content
  • your rates or project pricing structure
  • your location
  • your camera/audio/lighting setup
  • a short note on how you’d approach filming premium-feeling course content in a home setting

Bonus If You Have Experience With

  • MasterClass-style or premium educational content
  • founder-led content
  • wellness, lifestyle, or personal development brands
  • filming in smaller or non-studio environments
  • creating visually consistent multi-video course libraries

About Us

We’re a husband-and-wife founder team building Self-Care Is For Everyone, a mental health advocacy brand centered around meaningful products, storytelling, and emotional support.

We’re also writers, creators, and parents trying to make space for all of this inside real life. We’re looking for someone who understands that and can help us create content that feels beautiful, calm, and intentional without making the process overwhelming.

This could become an ongoing creative relationship for the right person as we continue expanding our educational and course-based content.

Pay: $100.00 - $200.00 per day
