Reporting To: Director – Contracting & Sourcing


Overview:

The Contracting & Sourcing Buyer will be responsible for managing the end-to-end contracting and sourcing process for raw materials and commodities. This role will focus on driving cost optimization, ensuring supplier compliance, and supporting the company’s productivity and efficiency objectives through effective sourcing strategies, supplier relationship management, and continuous improvement initiatives.


How Will You Make An Impact?

  • Lead section improvement initiatives and support the development of tools and processes to enhance sourcing efficiency.
  • Drive behavioral change across the team and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Manage all phases of contract development, including drafting, negotiation, and SLA creation.
  • Conduct market scans and provide insights on trends and conditions that may impact suppliers and company operations.
  • Analyze and direct all costs related to raw material procurement (RPM).
  • Execute benchmarking and hedging strategies to optimize procurement outcomes.
  • Develop and implement cost-saving strategies in alignment with company productivity plans.
  • Improve cost performance by ensuring the company’s costing strategies are effectively executed.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities.
  • Manage vendor performance through regular monitoring, analysis, and evaluation.
  • Lead and mentor the sourcing team, providing guidance to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Build and lead cross-functional teams in developing and executing sourcing strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align sourcing activities with business needs and specifications.
  • Establish a framework for Third-Party Supplier Risk Management, supporting supplier relationship management across business units.
  • Lead supplier audits and evaluations to ensure compliance with ethical standards, legal requirements, and industry best practices.


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.


Experience & Functional Knowledge

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, contracting, or sourcing (FMCG industry preferred).
  • Strong background in FMCG; experience in the food sector is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting.
  • Proven leadership abilities with experience managing and mentoring teams.
