We are seeking a highly capable and results-oriented Project Manager to lead complex generator testing and retrofit and enablement projects that prepare energy assets for participation in regional energy markets. This role is ideal for professionals with a background in engineering, project management, or construction management, and a passion for delivering large-scale infrastructure projects with precision and impact.

This is a remote Contractor position with a preference for candidates located in the New York metro area and is not a benefit eligible role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead generator retrofit and enablement projects from planning through execution.
  • Manage project cost, schedule, scope, and risk to ensure timely, on-budget delivery.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project documentation, including schedules, budgets, risk registers, and progress reports.
  • Track milestones, report progress to leadership, and drive continuous improvement in project execution.
  • Coordinate efforts across multiple departments including Operations, Sales, IT, and Regulatory to align technical and commercial deliverables.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings, drive issue resolution, and ensure accountability across all project phases.
  • Engage proactively with customers throughout all project phases to understand their needs, provide regular updates, and address concerns promptly.
  • Foster strong client relationships by serving as the primary point of contact, ensuring expectations are clearly communicated and met.
  • Collaborate with customers to incorporate feedback, resolve issues efficiently, and drive overall satisfaction with project outcomes.
  • Oversee asset readiness for energy market participation, including regulatory and environmental compliance.
  • Support procurement, contractor management, and construction oversight as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and background in Engineering, Project Management, or Construction Management.
  • Project management professional (PMP) certification, a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience managing large infrastructure or energy projects.
  • Strong command of cost control, scheduling tools, and scope management.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Strong preference for candidates located within 100 miles of New York City.
