Job Summary

The Contracts Manager is responsible for managing all contractual and commercial aspects of construction projects in Dubai, ensuring compliance with contract terms, UAE laws, and company procedures. The role involves overseeing subcontract administration, claims, variations, risk management, and supporting the project team to protect the company’s commercial interests.

Key ResponsibilitiesContract Administration

  • Review, interpret, and administer main contracts and subcontracts (FIDIC-based contracts commonly used in Dubai).
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms, conditions, and timelines.
  • Advise project teams on contractual obligations and entitlements.
  • Maintain proper contractual records and correspondence.

Subcontract & Procurement Management

  • Prepare, review, and negotiate subcontract agreements.
  • Coordinate with procurement and commercial teams during tendering and award.
  • Manage subcontractor performance in line with contract conditions.

Variations & Claims

  • Identify, assess, and manage variations, extensions of time (EOT), and claims.
  • Prepare contractual notices, claims submissions, and supporting documentation.
  • Evaluate subcontractor claims and recommend approvals or rejections.
  • Support dispute resolution, negotiations, and final settlements.

Commercial & Risk Management

  • Monitor project commercial performance and mitigate contractual risks.
  • Identify potential contractual issues early and propose solutions.
  • Assist in cost control, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Support preparation of interim and final accounts.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with UAE construction laws and contractual standards.
  • Coordinate with legal advisors when required.
  • Prepare contractual reports for senior management.
  • Support audits and project close-out documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 10–15 years’ experience in construction contracts management in the UAE.
  • Strong experience with FIDIC contracts and Dubai authority regulations.
  • Experience in high-rise buildings, infrastructure, or large-scale projects preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of contract law and construction practices in Dubai.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex contractual issues.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and contract management systems.
