Job Type: Full-time (W-2). Open to contract/commission-based for the right candidate.
About Us
Ben & Nino is a woman-owned towing and auto service company serving NYC and the Tri-State area. We support public agencies, airports, property managers, hospitals, garages, and private fleets with light/medium/heavy-duty towing, recovery, and roadside services. We’re hiring a proactive Contracts & Procurement Specialist to find, win, and manage contracted tow work across Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and the broader Tri-State.
What You’ll Do
Source opportunities: Identify RFPs/RFQs/ITBs and contracted towing opportunities with municipalities, police & public safety, airports, hospitals, universities, parking operators, property managers, fleet operators, and insurers.
Vendor onboarding: Complete vendor registrations/renewals and maintain profiles and certifications (e.g., SAM/UEI, NYC/NYS portals, NJ vendor portals, Port Authority, MTA, county/city platforms).
Bid & proposal management: Track solicitations, coordinate questions, attend pre-bid meetings, compile narratives, pricing and rate tables, attachments, COIs, licenses, safety/compliance docs, and submit on time.
Relationship building: Develop and maintain relationships with contracting officers, facility managers, garage operators, police/tow program coordinators, and fleet managers; schedule capability briefings and site visits.
Pipeline & CRM: Build a rolling contracts calendar, forecast wins/renewals, and keep leadership updated with weekly reports.
Launch & compliance: Support kickoff after award (SOPs, rate sheets, dispatch contacts, invoicing instructions) and monitor KPIs, SLAs, and renewal dates.
What You Bring
3+ years in procurement, business development, or contract management—ideally in towing, transportation, logistics, fleet, or public works/services.
Working knowledge of public-sector procurement (RFP/RFQ/ITB), compliance requirements, indemnification/insurance, and rate structures for tow and recovery.
Strong writing and pricing skills; comfortable translating operational capabilities into clear proposals and rate tables.
Organized, deadline-driven, and persistent with follow-through; experience maintaining a pipeline/CRM.
Professional communication and negotiation skills; able to represent a 24/7 operation with urgency and reliability.
Nice to have: familiarity with NYC/tri-state portals (e.g., NYC PASSPort, NYS Contract Reporter, SAM.gov, NJ START, PANYNJ, MTA), and experience with airport or municipal tow programs.
