Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Contracts Engineer / Contracts Specialist to join our team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing contractual and commercial activities across construction projects, including contract administration, claims management, variation handling, and contractual risk assessment.

The successful candidate should possess strong knowledge of construction contracts, FIDIC conditions, and project commercial management within the UAE construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

Contract Administration

  • Review and manage client contracts, subcontracts, supplier agreements, and related contractual documents.
  • Interpret contractual terms and provide guidance to project and commercial teams.
  • Ensure all contracts comply with company policies, project requirements, and legal standards.
  • Maintain proper contract records, correspondence, and document control.

Tender & Commercial Support

  • Review tender documents, BOQs, technical specifications, and commercial terms.
  • Identify contractual risks and commercial concerns during tender stages.
  • Assist in preparing contractual clarifications, qualifications, and tender submissions.
  • Coordinate with estimation, procurement, and project teams during bid preparation.

Variations & Claims Management

  • Handle variation orders, claims, and contractual notices throughout project execution.
  • Prepare and review Extension of Time (EOT) submissions and supporting documentation.
  • Evaluate delay impacts, additional costs, and contractual entitlements.
  • Coordinate with consultants and clients regarding approvals and claim settlements.

Risk & Compliance Management

  • Monitor project compliance with contractual obligations and conditions.
  • Identify potential contractual disputes and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Support commercial risk assessments and contract compliance reviews.
  • Ensure timely submission of notices, claims, and contractual communications.

Coordination & Reporting

  • Coordinate with Project Managers, QS teams, Planning Engineers, Procurement, and Legal departments.
  • Attend project meetings and support management on contractual matters.
  • Prepare regular reports on claims status, variations, and contractual risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Law, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in contracts management within construction or contracting companies.
  • Strong experience with FIDIC contracts, claims management, and variation administration.
  • Experience in UAE/GCC construction projects is preferred.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and contractual processes in construction projects.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and contract/document management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in FIDIC, Contracts Management, or Claims Management is an advantage.
  • Experience handling arbitration support, dispute resolution, and commercial negotiations.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE construction industry practices and contract administration.

Pay: AED8,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
