Contracts Engineer | FIDIC & Claims Management | UAE Experience Required

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Contracts Engineer to join our construction team in Dubai. The successful candidate will manage all contractual and commercial activities across projects, including contract administration, claims management, variation handling, and contractual risk assessment.
The role requires strong expertise in FIDIC contracts, UAE construction practices, and commercial project delivery within the contracting industry.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Administration
- Review and manage client contracts, subcontracts, and supplier agreements
- Interpret contractual terms and provide guidance to project and commercial teams
- Ensure compliance with company policies and contract requirements
- Maintain proper contract documentation and correspondence records
Tender & Commercial Support
- Review tender documents, BOQs, and technical specifications
- Identify contractual risks during tender stages
- Support preparation of tender clarifications and submissions
- Coordinate with estimation, procurement, and project teams
Variations & Claims Management
- Handle variation orders, claims, and contractual notices
- Prepare Extension of Time (EOT) claims and supporting documentation
- Evaluate cost and time impacts of project delays
- Coordinate with clients and consultants for approvals and settlements
Risk & Compliance Management
- Monitor contractual obligations across projects
- Identify potential disputes and recommend mitigation actions
- Support commercial risk assessments and contract reviews
- Ensure timely submission of contractual notices and claims
Coordination & Reporting
- Work closely with Project Managers, QS, Planning, Procurement, and Legal teams
- Attend project meetings and provide contractual support
- Prepare regular reports on claims, variations, and contract status
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Law, or related field
- 5–8 years of experience in contracts management within construction or contracting companies
- Strong experience in:
- FIDIC contracts
- Claims management
- Variation orders
- Contractual risk management
- UAE/GCC construction experience preferred
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and contract/document control systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in FIDIC, Contracts Management, or Claims Management
- Experience in arbitration support and dispute resolution
- Strong knowledge of UAE construction industry practices
