Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Contracts Specialist with proven experience in the construction/contracting industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the full contract lifecycle, including review, negotiation, administration, and claims management. This role requires strong knowledge of commercial awareness, and the ability to support project teams in minimizing contractual risks and maximizing project value.

Key Responsibilities

1. Contract Review & Administration

  • Review client contracts, subcontracts, and supplier agreements to ensure compliance with company policies and project requirements
  • Identify contractual risks, obligations, and key deliverables
  • Provide contract interpretation and guidance to project and commercial teams
  • Maintain proper documentation and contract records

2. Tendering & Pre-Contract Support

  • Assist in reviewing tender documents, specifications, and BOQs
  • Highlight commercial and contractual risks during the tender stage
  • Support the preparation of clarifications, qualifications, and deviations
  • Coordinate with estimation and procurement teams

3. Variations & Change Management

  • Manage variation orders (VOs) and change requests
  • Evaluate the impact of changes on cost and schedule
  • Ensure proper documentation and approval of variations
  • Liaise with clients and consultants for approvals

4. Claims Management

  • Prepare and evaluate claims related to delays, disruptions, and additional costs
  • Draft Extension of Time (EOT) submissions with proper justification
  • Maintain detailed records to support claims
  • Coordinate with planning and project teams for claim substantiation

5. Contract Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure all project activities comply with contractual terms and conditions
  • Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance against contract obligations
  • Identify potential disputes and proactively recommend mitigation strategies

6. Dispute Resolution Support

  • Assist in resolving contractual disputes and commercial issues
  • Support arbitration, mediation, or negotiation processes if required
  • Work closely with legal advisors when necessary

7. Stakeholder Coordination

  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Procurement, and Legal teams
  • Act as a key point of contact for contractual matters across projects

RequirementsEducation

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management

Experience

  • 5–8 years of experience in contracts management within a construction or contracting company
  • Strong experience handling FIDIC-based contracts
  • Proven track record in claims and variation management

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of contract law and commercial terms
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and analytical thinking
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Proficiency in MS Office and contract management systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Contracts Management or Claims (FIDIC or equivalent)
  • Experience in UAE or GCC construction projects
  • Familiarity with arbitration and dispute resolution processes

Pay: AED8,000.00 - AED12,000.00 per month
