PAVO GROUP, which constantly follows technological developments, strives to be a pioneer by reflecting these developments to its products and services, adds value to itself and its environment, protects the core values with its team, and progresses with the aim of becoming a preferred business partner in the market without compromising its ethical rules, business ethics and honesty; Avionic Systems, Data Center & Infrastructure Solutions, Value-Added Industrial Structures and Information Technologies, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Ethernet Solutions, as a system integrator in the defense and civil sector, offers system solutions to its domestic and foreign strategic partners.

ISTANBUL DEFENSE SYSTEMS aims to contribute to meeting Turkey's defense needs with niche products. It takes care to ensure that the products it designs with flexible architectures that can meet all needs are easy to use, maintain and integrate. At the same time, it prepares potential products for both civilian and military use. It continues to work by developing electro-optical systems with its experienced staff.

OBJECTIVE/AIM

The purpose of this role is to lead the development of stabilization dynamics, control algorithms, and axis motor-drive intelligence for next-generation electro-optic gimbal systems used on unmanned platforms. The position focuses on high-fidelity motion modeling, algorithm creation, parameter extraction, and complete system characterization to validate stable line-of-sight performance under real operational conditions. The engineer will generate mathematical models and control loops, design motor control strategies, including vector-based and multi-input multi-output control, and conduct experimental identification to obtain dynamic transfer functions and system parameters. All outputs will support Model-Based Systems Engineering alignment for gimbal performance verification and future product readiness. The role also includes engineering evaluation, simulation analysis, and controller prototyping in environments such as INCOSE-compliant workflows and motion-control stacks leveraging tools like MATLAB/Simulink.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop high-fidelity dynamic models for multi-axis stabilized gimbal systems.
  • Design, implement, and optimize motor control loops for gimbal axes, including closed-loop current, velocity, and position control.
  • Create and validate stabilization algorithms to ensure stable Line-of-Sight (LoS) and jitter suppression under disturbance profiles.
  • Plan and execute system identification and characterization campaigns to extract transfer functions and critical control parameters.
  • Perform controller prototyping and analysis within Model-Based Design environments.
  • Conduct stability and frequency-domain analyses for gimbal and motor drive systems using classical control techniques.
  • Develop cross-axis interaction compensation strategies for MIMO-based gimbal architectures.
  • Design Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), and Model-in-the-Loop (MIL) verification pipelines for controller validation.
  • IMU and encoder telemetry for state estimation, axis correction, and angular rate conditioning.
  • Evaluate driver electronics performance, including inrush behavior, filtering, damping, and control-surface response.
  • Produce structured engineering artifacts supporting systems engineering alignment, verification evidence, and long-term controller readiness.
  • Interface with embedded compute stacks and robotic middleware for motion control deployment on real hardware.
  • Collaborate with precision motion control motor platforms, including integration and empirical validation.
  • Support end-to-end control stack development using flight-critical analysis frameworks and production-grade software toolsets such as models, scripts, and embedded motor-drive runtimes.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Control Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in control systems design (preferably in gimbal systems)
  • Ability to design the gimbal control algorithms.
  • Experience in electro-optic systems, autonomous systems and preferably in drones, UGV, and UAV systems,
  • C, C++, Python, Matlab/Simulink.
  • English (advanced)

Pavo Group offers the opportunity to work with its team that makes a difference in the field of engineering and new generation technologies in its Kocaeli Bilişim Vadisi office; It provides equal opportunities to all candidates without discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, family relations, gender. However, it respects teammates working under variable conditions, process-oriented approaches and is looking for new teammates who can have the same motivation as Pavo Group.
