Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Control Systems Technician/Engineer to join our team in Princeton, MN. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of manufacturing automation and industrial control systems. As a vital member of our technical team, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing complex control systems that drive our production processes. Responsibilities
- Design, develop and implement control systems for food processing automated equipment
- Develop PLC programs using Ladder Logic(Allen-Bradley)
- Tune and optimize PID loops for temperature, pressure, flow and motion control applications
- Develop user-friendly HMI interfaces(ideal candidate will have experience with Exor HMI's/Javascript)
- Set up industrial machine networks utilizing Ethernet/IP and other communications
- Design full electrical control panels, including layout, schematics, wiring diagrams and component selection
- Specify and integrate sensors, actuators, relays, safety circuits and VFD's
- Ensure all design work complies with applicable standards(UL, CSA, NFPA,NEC)
- Perform in-house testing, troubleshooting and provide startup support for our service team
- Utilize remote access methods to provide on-site support(Ewon & Corvina)
- Diagnose issues in PLC logic, pneumatic/electrical systems and communication networks
- Provide technical support for production, maintenance and engineering teams
- Document changes, create manuals & SOPs, train service team on new features
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, computer science or related field
- Professional experience with industrial process control systems
- Experience developing HMI applications, ideally Exor JMobile or equivalent Javascript platforms
- 2 plus years experience in Allen-Bradley PLC programming (RS Logix 500)
- Solid understanding of PID control, instrumentation and industrial sensors
- Ability to read and create electrical schematics(Autocad Electrical, BricsCAD or similar
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Experience supporting field service operations across various locations; strong customer service skills are essential for effective communication with clients and team members alike.
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
- Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation confidently.
