Job Summary:

Responsible for supporting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in ensuring the effective operation of the accounting and financial reporting functions by performing or supervising various accounting duties. Assists the CFO in various projects, aids in internal and external audits, and trouble shoots department related issues.
Primary Responsibilities:

Oversee and execute daily operations of the Accounting division to include accounts payable and funds management, ensuring efficient use of time and resources

Review general ledger reports daily to ensure net changes are reasonable and postings are accurate

Monitor accounts payable for accuracy of general ledger postings. Review payables prior to month end closing for expense accruals and adjust as necessary

Complete monthly comparison of income & expense line items prior to month-end closing; prepare monthly Board & management financial reports

Perform, review, and analyze all reconciliations of general ledger accounts investigating any discrepancies as needed

Responsible for timely preparation of the periodic regulatory reports for the Bank and Holding Company including the quarterly call reports

Review and maintain the accrued and prepaid accounts, maintain fixed assets accounting

Ensure accounting and reporting internal controls are designed and operating effectively including maintaining appropriate documentation

Monitor activity for compliance with Reg W

Assist with internal and external audits throughout audit process. Ensure any audit findings are thoroughly researched and addressed timely

Ensure bond accounting activity is posted timely and accurately
Qualifications:
-
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or related field. MBA or CPA preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in banking, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities for this role

Excellent analytical, leadership, organization, and communication abilities

Advanced Microsoft Office Skills
