<Job Summary>
We are seeking a seasoned Controller to lead the financial operations of our rapidly growing Solar Development and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firm. You will be the financial owner of projects from early-stage development through construction and into long-term operations. This role requires a unique blend of corporate financial leadership and deep expertise in construction-specific accounting.
<Duties>
- Manage and oversee all aspects of accounting including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and financial report writing to provide clear insights into company performance.
- Lead the preparation of regulatory reporting and financial statements for internal use and external stakeholders.
- Supervise cash management activities, including forecasting, banking relationships, and liquidity monitoring.
- Handle tax filings, audits, and accounting for ITCs, grants, and RECs. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and internal control development.
- Oversee internal controls related to double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
<Skills>
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP
- Proficiency in financial management software including Premier, Sage, NetSuite or equivalent tools.
- Strong understanding of cash management strategies and budgeting processes.
- Demonstrated ability in financial analysis, forecasting, and technical accounting concepts.
- Excellent skills in financial report writing and account reconciliation techniques.
- Ability to manage accounts payable/receivable processes efficiently while maintaining high accuracy standards.
