Position Summary:
The Finance Controller is responsible for directing and overseeing all accounting and financial reporting functions for the organization. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial records, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the development of financial strategies that support the company’s operational and strategic objectives. The Controller provides leadership to the accounting team, manages financial controls, and partners with senior leadership to support informed business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost accounting, and financial reporting.
- Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with company policy and applicable accounting standards.
- Establish and maintain internal accounting controls to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process and monitor financial performance against approved budgets.
- Analyze financial results and provide management with clear reporting and recommendations regarding cost control, profitability, and operational performance.
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and required regulatory reporting.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local financial and tax regulations.
- Improve financial systems, reporting processes, and internal procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Supervise, coach, and develop accounting staff to ensure effective performance and continuous improvement.
- Support cross-functional collaboration with operations and leadership to ensure financial alignment with business objectives.
- Support ERP system management, implementation, and reporting improvements.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.
- Financial Authority / Decision Making Responsibility
- Manage all aspects of cost accounting, including standard cost setup, tracking, and variance analysis. Ensure accurate costing for products and production processes to support financial reporting and decision-making.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support company objectives
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or Finance with course work and/or exposure to management information systems requirement. Five to six years’ experience in public or manufacturing accounting.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation required.
- Experience with financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- 10+ years’ experience in Accounting.
- Experience in manufacturing accounting; public accounting experience is a plus but not required
- Preferred experience working with Plex ERP Systems.
- Experience in managing and coaching Accounting staff.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to sit, stand, and move throughout the office and plant environment.
- Must be able to read documents and computer screens for extended periods of time.
- Occasionally required to walk through production areas of the facility.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and through electronic communication.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
