Controller

Job Summary
We are seeking a seasoned highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee our accounting operations and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in warehouse logistics accounting, and or trucking transportation with expertise in financial management and reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience with bank negotiation and loans for projects. Will have experience with projects, from start to finish, giving quotes and managing the financial aspects of the project. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent analytical skills, who can effectively manage cash flow, budgeting, and financial forecasting while leading a team of accounting professionals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation of financial statements.
• Manage all aspects of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Oversee the accounting department
• Ensure compliance with SOX regulations and perform regulatory reporting.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting.
• Prepare detailed financial reports and analyses for management review.
• Implement and maintain effective cash management strategies.
• Lead budgeting processes, including forecasting and variance analysis.
• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and Warehouse management software.
• Conduct audits
• Negotiation with banks for loans
• Will work on projects that require financial quotes and forecasting.
• Provide technical accounting guidance to staff and assist in account reconciliation efforts.
• Collaborate with external auditors during audits to ensure compliance.
• Lead an accounting department of five employees
• Have experience with AR and AP.
• Able to partner with HR and company owner.
• Must delegate and structure accounting department
• Performance manage the team when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification is a plus.
• 5 plus years working as a controller.
• Proven experience in warehouse accounting.
• Audits
• Experience with bank negotiation with different types of loans.
• Strong knowledge of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, cash management, and account analysis.
• Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills for data analysis.
• Excellent communication skills for effective financial report writing and collaboration with stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate general ledger reconciliation.
• Ability to analyze complex financial data to support strategic decision-making.
• Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial forecasting techniques.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $145,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
