Controller

Role Summary

West Modular Manufacturing is seeking a Controller to lead financial strategy, GAAP compliance, WIP reporting, treasury operations, and systems oversight.

West Manufacturing (WM) is a modular construction and development company located in both San Diego, CA and Mexico. WM is innovating the industry by combining traditional on-site construction with optimized off-site factory assembly line processes. WM has developed a process that will start a transformative change on a massive scale — not only optimizing industry productivity, but also drastically reducing the carbon footprint of construction and sourcing sustainable materials whenever possible.

Core Responsibilities

• Financial leadership and long-range planning.
• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close.
• Manage WIP reporting, job costing, and project margin controls.
• Oversee AP workflows and internal controls.
• Lead treasury, banking, and cash flow forecasting.
• Maintain strong internal controls and audit readiness.
• Build management reporting packages and KPI dashboards.

Required Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
• CPA or currently pursuing a CPA, preferred
• 5 + years’ experience in Construction or Manufacturing industry required
• Systems experience in Sage Intacct, ModuCore, Bill.com are preferred
• Spanish bi-lingual work experience preferred
• Proven self-starter, highly motivated individual
• Ability to navigate complex organizations, quickly gain business insights and influence transparency.
• Careful attention to detail and the ability to organize and manage deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Problem solving expertise with a proven track record of identifying operational opportunities and executing action plans to close gaps in aligning finance maturity capabilities to business demand.
• Possess strong collaboration, mentoring and leadership skills.

Work Expectations

• On-site work expectations, San Diego. 2-3 days/week
• Remote or office share space available.

Pay: $180,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
