Job Overview
SUMMARY The Controller is a senior financial leadership role responsible for overseeing all accounting operations at our Ohio manufacturing plant. This individual will serve as the financial steward of the facility, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and partnering with plant leadership to drive operational performance. The ideal candidate combines deep manufacturing finance expertise with strong analytical skills and a continuous improvement mindset.

Duties

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Financial Reporting & Accounting

● Manage all general ledger functions including month-end and year-end close processes ● Prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP

● Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed asset accounting

● Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure all transactions are properly documented

● Coordinate with corporate finance and external auditors for annual audit activities.

Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Finance

● Maintain and improve the standard cost system; analyze variances

● Monitor and analyze direct and indirect labor, material, and overhead costs

● Partner with operations and supply chain to drive cost reduction initiatives

● Conduct inventory valuation and support cycle count and physical inventory processes Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning

● Lead the annual plant operating budget process in collaboration with department managers

● Prepare rolling forecasts and variance analyses against budget and prior periods

● Provide financial modeling and scenario analysis to support strategic decision-making Internal Controls & Compliance

● Design, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets

● Ensure compliance with corporate financial policies, and applicable regulations

● Identify control gaps and implement corrective actions in a timely manner

● Maintain proper documentation of financial processes and procedures Business Partnership & Leadership

● Serve as a trusted financial advisor to the Plant Manager and department leadership team ● Present financial results and insights to senior management and corporate stakeholders ● Lead and develop a team of finance an

Qualifications Required ● Bachelor & degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field ● 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment ● Strong knowledge of cost accounting, standard costing, and manufacturing overhead ● Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills ● Thorough understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements ● Demonstrated experience managing and developing a finance team Preferred ● Experience in a plant controller or assistant controller role ● Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies ● Experience with corporate reporting environments.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
