As we continue to scale, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to lead our accounting operations and support strategic financial decision-making.
Position Summary
The Controller will oversee the company’s day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all financial operations. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity of financial reporting and providing leadership with timely, reliable financial insights.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, leadership experience, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Develop and implement internal controls, policies, and procedures to mitigate risk and ensure compliance
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company standards
- Partner with external auditors, tax preparers, and regulatory agencies as needed
- Support the CFM with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Maintain and optimize accounting systems, improving workflows and reporting capabilities
- Monitor property cash flow
- Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff, fostering a high-performance team culture
- Support real estate-specific accounting functions including investor reporting
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal control best practices
- High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non-finance stakeholders
- Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills
- Real estate accounting experience strongly preferred
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA strongly preferred
- 7–10 years of accounting experience, including 3+ years in a Controller or leadership role
- Yardi Experience is a must
- Experience in real estate, property management, or construction accounting preferred
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing accounting teams

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
