EVI Industries, a publicly traded company, is seeking a Controller to support financial operations across multiple business units in a fast-paced and growing environment.
This role is ideal for a hands-on finance professional who enjoys partnering with leadership, improving processes, and driving operational performance through accurate financial reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activity
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial analysis
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and operational performance reports
- Monitor key financial metrics including revenue, margins, labor, expenses, inventory, and cash flow
- Perform variance analysis and provide actionable financial insights to leadership
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP
- Improve accounting processes and reporting workflows to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Support audit preparation, 1099 processing, and vendor/payment management
- Partner closely with finance and operational leadership teams across the organization
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5–8+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
- Experience in a Controller, Accounting Manager, or Senior Accountant-level role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with month-end close, cash flow management, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
- Experience in a multi-location or operational environment strongly preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
