Controller Accounting Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Controller or Accounting Manager to lead our financial reporting and accounting operations. The Controller is accountable for the financial operations of the company, including but not limited to the production of periodic internal financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and credit lines. Ensure the timely registration, preparation and filing of all city, state and federal tax, per jurisdictional requirements and corporate guidelines.
• Provide supervision, guidance and training to all accounting team members. Contribute to annual performance and wage reviews. Work with office manager to ensure proper coverage during vacation and sick absences. Review AP, AR, & GL job functions and revise as necessary. Advise and assist as needed.
• Utilize internal control and management practices based on a systematic and independent review of the operations. Maintain the chart of accounts, review journal entries and oversee month-end close procedures and reporting. Reconcile balance sheet accounts and monitor inventory accounting. Work with the company's CPA for financial reporting, and federal and state tax filing.

Qualifications

The Controller or Accounting Manager must be well-grounded in accounting fundamentals and be willing to update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, including continuing education courses to maintain a superior level of competence working with our internal software. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to present sensitive and confidential information to management and external financial advisors is expected.

This is an in-office position.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
