Controller / Director of Finance & Operations

The Opportunity

We are partnering with a private investment platform / family office that acquires and scales small to mid-sized businesses across diverse industries.

This is a high-impact leadership role at the center of the platform with a clear path to CFO.

You will work directly with ownership to drive financial visibility, operational performance, and scalable infrastructure.

The Role

You will lead finance across a multi-entity platform while also operating and scaling an internal accounting services business supporting both portfolio companies and external clients.

Core Responsibilities

• Financial reporting, monthly close, and consolidated statements
• KPI development, reporting standardization, and performance tracking
• Budgeting, forecasting, and cash & capital management
• M&A support including diligence and integration
• Systems, infrastructure, and internal controls build-out
• Partnering with operators to drive business performance
• Team building, mentorship, and leadership across entities
• Operate and scale internal bookkeeping/tax business:

– Manage delivery for portfolio companies

– Source and win third-party clients

– Build into a revenue-generating vertical

Candidate Profile

CPA preferred; 5–10 years experience

Controller or similar leadership background

Strong GAAP, consolidations, multi-entity experience

Experience building systems and infrastructure

M&A / private investment exposure preferred
