Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Controller with expertise in Human Resources management within the civil construction industry. Duties
- Lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and cash management.
- Manage budgeting processes, financial forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure accurate balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis using accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms.
- Maintain strict adherence to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and implement internal audit procedures to safeguard assets.
- Coordinate regulatory reporting efforts for governmental agencies and ensure compliance with non-profit accounting standards when applicable.
- Supervise HR functions related to payroll administration, employee records management, benefits coordination, and compliance with employment laws.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls that enhance operational efficiency while supporting organizational goals.
- Lead HR initiatives including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and training programs to foster a motivated workforce.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance, governmental accounting standards, and non-profit accounting practices.
- Strong financial acumen with expertise in financial report writing, account reconciliation, and account analysis.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms; experience with financial management tools is essential.
- Deep understanding of technical accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, general ledger accounting, and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Skilled in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cash flow management to support strategic planning efforts.
- Excellent knowledge of payroll processing systems and regulatory reporting requirements for both public and private entities.
- Ability to interpret complex financial data into clear reports for stakeholders at all levels; strong communication skills are vital.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
