Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and conduct semester, annual, entrance, and special examinations
- Ensure timely evaluation, tabulation, result declaration, and issuance of mark sheets, transcripts, and certificates
- Develop, implement, and monitor examination policies, procedures, and schedules
- Maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and security of examination records and data
- Oversee and upgrade digital examination and result management systems
- Coordinate with academic departments, faculty members, examiners, and affiliated institutions
- Address examination-related grievances, revaluation cases, and unfair means as per university rules
- Ensure full compliance with UGC and statutory regulations
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications
- Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent Grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale from a recognized university
- Relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/PwD candidates as per UGC norms
- Ph.D. degree is desirable
Experience Requirements
Applicants must fulfill any ONE of the following:
- Minimum 10 years of administrative experience in examination or academic administration at the level of Deputy Registrar / Assistant Controller of Examinations or equivalent in a recognized university or higher education institution
OR
- Minimum 5 years as Deputy Registrar or equivalent, with proven responsibility for examination management and academic governance
OR
- 15 years of teaching experience as Professor (Academic Level 13 or above) with substantial involvement in examination administration
Essential Skills & Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of UGC regulations, university statutes, and examination systems
- Proven experience in handling confidential examination processes and result management
- Strong administrative, organizational, and leadership skills
- Proficiency in digital examination platforms, academic software, and IT tools
Important Note
In case of any variation between the eligibility criteria mentioned above and the UGC (Minimum Qualifications for Appointment and Promotion of Teachers and Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges) Regulations, the UGC regulations shall prevail and be considered final.
