Overview

Newport Vineyards is looking for a highly capable, detail-driven professional to serve as the financial and administrative backbone of our growing vineyard, winery, brewery, and hospitality business. This role blends daily bookkeeping and financial record-keeping with essential office coordination and support. You will manage day-to-day accounting (AP/AR, payroll, and reporting), maintain office equipment and supplies, and support executive leadership to keep the business running smoothly behind the scenes. The ideal candidate is proactive, discreet, and comfortable wearing multiple hats in a fast-paced, hospitality-driven environment

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Accounting

  • Oversee day-to-day bookkeeping, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and tax reports.

Office Management

  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and office supplies.
  • Help develop and maintain internal systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Support HR functions employee records, and benefits administration.

Executive Support

  • Prepare reports, presentations, and materials for executive decision-making.
  • Assist with strategic projects and follow-ups to ensure execution.
  • Handle confidential information with the highest level of professionalism.

Operational Oversight

  • Collaborate with leadership across hospitality, production, and retail teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and cost control.
  • Support special projects, events, and business initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 3–7+ years in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial management.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar.
  • Industry Savvy: Experience in hospitality or small business environments is a plus.
  • Mindset: A proactive professional who demonstrates discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment.
