Overview:

In this role, your primary responsibilities will be to commission and troubleshoot equipment manufactured by Probat, Inc. You will travel both domestically and internationally to customers’ facilities to assist with equipment start-ups and installations. When not traveling, you will support our design and manufacturing teams and provide remote support to our customers.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of Horn a Probat Inc. Group’s proprietary equipment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues
  • Contribute to the design and development of new equipment control systems
  • Maintain documentation for existing equipment control systems
  • Assist in developing wiring diagrams, PLC programs, and touchscreen graphics
  • Integrate control panels with mechanical components to ensure proper equipment functionality
  • Collaborate with shop personnel and engineering staff to ensure all components meet safety standards
  • Work closely with internal and external engineers to evaluate and address customers’ needs
  • Deliver on-site training to ensure customers can operate equipment safely and effectively

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with programming experience (academic or professional)

OR

1+ year of PLC programming experience (Allen Bradley - Studio 5000), including experience creating programs from scratch

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in PLC programming software
  • Experience coding in ladder logic and structured text
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and mechanical design drawings
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
