Controls HVAC Technician

CONTROLS HVAC TECHNICIAN

MOST HVAC TECHS JUST WANT A SERVICE CALL.

WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO WANTS A CAREER.

If you're reading this, you're probably good at your trade. Maybe you're good at it and underpaid. Maybe you're stuck chasing residential service calls for a company that hands you a van and forgets your name. Maybe you're ready for something bigger — the kind of work that actually challenges you.

Here's what we're offering: HVAC installation on landmark projects, real career advancement, and a company that has been building Tuscaloosa, Alabama since 1992 — and isn't slowing down.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU

  • $30-40/hr DOE — tell us your background and we'll tell you where you land
  • Paid vacation and holidays
  • Healthcare, Dental, and Vision Insurance — 401(k) with Company Matching
  • A realistic path to Lead Tech, Foreman, Project Manager, or your own HVAC Contractor's License
  • Paid training on controls platforms and industry-leading construction programs

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3+ years of commercial HVAC experience — commercial installation preferred
  • BAS/controls experience preferred — if you've worked with Trane, Carrier, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, or similar platforms, we want to hear from you. If you haven't but you're a strong commercial tech, we're willing to train the right person.
  • EPA 608 Universal Certification required
  • Solid understanding of electrical systems and low-voltage wiring
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings without being walked through them
  • You show up on time, work clean, and take pride in every system you commission
  • Valid driver's license; ability to pass a background check and drug screen
  • Authorized to work in the United States

We do not require a decade of experience or a cover letter. We require people who are serious about the trade.

THE WORK

  • Install RTUs, AHUs, split systems, VAV/VRF systems, chillers, boilers, ERVs, MAUs, and commercial refrigeration equipment
  • Install, program, and troubleshoot HVAC control systems, sensors, actuators, and BAS interfaces where applicable
  • Read and build from full mechanical construction drawings and equipment submittals
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and controls-related failures
  • Lead small crews on assigned scopes on large, active project sites
  • Work to applicable mechanical codes and ASHRAE standards — we follow them to the letter
