Job Title: Daycare Cook / Support Staff
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 6:45 AM – 1:00

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and organized individual to serve as the cook for our childcare center, which provides care for up to 46 children. The Cook will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks, maintaining compliance with CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program) guidelines, and ensuring the kitchen meets all health and safety standards. In addition, this role supports the center by assisting with staff breaks and serving as a classroom float teacher when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and one snack daily for children and staff.
• Plan menus in alignment with CACFP requirements and center policies.
• Maintain inventory of food and supplies; complete and submit order forms as needed.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
• Accurately follow portion sizes and dietary restrictions/allergies.
• Assist with staff coverage by providing classroom breaks.
• Support teachers as a float in classrooms when needed.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure a positive, safe, and nurturing environment for children.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director.

Qualifications:

• Previous cooking or food preparation experience preferred (experience in childcare, school, or institutional setting is a plus).
• Knowledge of CACFP guidelines or willingness to learn.
• Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen.
• Strong time management skills to meet scheduled mealtimes.
• Flexibility to assist in classrooms and work as part of a team.
• Must meet state childcare licensing requirements (including background check, health form, and any required trainings).

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and perform routine kitchen and classroom tasks.
