Position Summary

The Kitchen Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items while supporting the sushi chefs in maintaining efficient kitchen operations. This position requires teamwork, attention to quality, and adherence to food safety and cleanliness standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook kitchen menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
• Support sushi chefs with food preparation, ingredient setup, and maintaining adequate supplies during service.
• Perform daily prep work, including cutting vegetables, preparing sauces, portioning proteins, and organizing ingredients.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen stations.
• Rotate into the dishwasher position as part of the daily work schedule and assist with cleaning duties as needed.
• Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of products using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations at all times.
• Assist with receiving and stocking inventory.
• Work collaboratively with all team members to provide efficient and timely service.
• Complete opening and closing duties as assigned.
• Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a professional and respectful work environment.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant or kitchen experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Willingness to rotate between cooking, food preparation, and dishwashing duties.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged standing and walking.
• Frequent bending, lifting, and carrying.
• Ability to work in hot, wet, and fast-paced kitchen conditions.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $12.50 per hour
