Estates of Shavano Park is looking to hire a full time Cook for our Skilled Nursing Facility in Shavano Park, Texas. Meals are free.

Full Time and Part Time Positions available.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus
• Prepare meals in accordance with therapeutic diets
• Prepare and serve bedtime snacks
• Prepare and serve substitute foods to residents who refuse planned meals

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to read, speak and understand English, follows directions, and completes tasks.
• Follows work/duty schedule provided by the Dietary Manager.
• Ability to follow time schedules for meal preparation and serving.
• Maintains a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance.
• Dependable, with quantity food service experience (preferably in long term care).
• Ability to work in a busy kitchen.
• Serves foods as requested by resident.
• Prepares snacks and nourishments with proper labels according to resident food preferences and physician’s orders.
• Cleans food preparation and service areas after use including utensils.
• Follows posted cleaning schedules utilizing proper sanitation and cleaning methods. Practices safety, infection control, and emergency procedures according to facility policies.
• Attends in-service education and staff meetings as required.
• Remains courteous, considerate, and cooperative when communicating with all facility personnel, residents, and family members.
• Wears personal protective equipment as required.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager

The Estates of Shavano Park is located on the edge of the Texas Hill Country, the City of Shavano Park is in the San Antonio Metropolitan Area in northwest Bexar County, approximately 12 miles north of downtown San Antonio.
