• At Bright Start Childcare our cook is a chef, a nutritionist, and is an enthusiast for healthier child-friendly eating options!

Preparation of foods; making sure it is available at serving time and kept hot and in such a way that foods taste good and look appealing, and that there are ample amounts of food for children.

Work with school leaders and classroom teachers to ensure daily mealtime schedules and routines are consistent.

Helps to maintain established standards of sanitation, safety, food preparation, and storage as set by the local and state health departments, including storage of food and supplies in appropriate areas, washing dishes, cleaning refrigerators, stove, bins, cupboards, and other kitchen equipment and utensils; and sweeping and mopping.

Assist with food inventory according to date of arrival.

Deliver food from the kitchen to the classroom ready to be served as suitable for the children’s age and development.

Other duties as assigned by management.
