Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Cook & Cashier, where you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional food service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. This position combines culinary responsibilities with front-of-house customer interactions, ensuring every visitor enjoys a memorable experience. Whether you're preparing delicious meals or efficiently handling transactions at the register, your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help drive our success. The job is every Saturday and Sunday from June to mid-October, 10am-6pm (weather permitting).
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food items according to established recipes and quality standards, maintaining proper food handling and sanitation practices.
- Operate POS system process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Greet customers warmly, take orders, and provide excellent customer service in a quick service or fast food setting.
- Manage cash handling responsibilities, including processing payments, giving correct change, and balancing cash drawers at shift end.
- Upsell menu items to increase sales and enhance the customer experience through friendly recommendations.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, dining areas, and kitchen spaces by bussing tables, sanitizing surfaces, and adhering to food safety regulations.
- Assist with food preparation tasks like assembling ingredients, portioning items, and ensuring timely delivery of orders.
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation and food service environments, ideally within quick service or fast food restaurants.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for efficient transaction processing.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests.
- Excellent time management skills to handle busy periods smoothly while maintaining quality standards.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and accurate order processing.
- Knowledge of food safety protocols, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment with flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
