Coordinator, Clinical Faculty Recruitment and Scheduling - Nursing

Summary of Position

Supports the School of Nursing by coordinating the recruitment, onboarding, and scheduling of clinical faculty. Ensures that qualified clinical instructors are identified, hired, and assigned to clinical courses and placements in alignment with program needs, accreditation standards, and clinical site requirements. Works closely with academic leadership, human resources, and clinical partners to maintain adequate faculty coverage and ensure a smooth and compliant clinical education experience for students.Ensures the daily function of operations and services related to any assigned program, initiative, or objective.

Position Information

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Coordinates the recruitment process for clinical faculty, including outreach, candidate tracking, interview coordination, initial interview, hiring paperwork, and onboarding.

Maintains a pool of qualified clinical instructors and support efforts to attract and retain adjunct and part-time faculty.

Develops and manages clinical faculty teaching schedules in collaboration with program leadership and clinical partners.

Ensures faculty assignments align with course needs, clinical site availability, and regulatory or accreditation requirements.

Maintains accurate records and creates reports for Ohio Board of Nursing (OBN) and accreditation of faculty credentials, contracts, and compliance documentation required for clinical placements.

Serves as a liaison between clinical faculty, academic leadership, and clinical site partners regarding scheduling and placement logistics.

Monitors faculty coverage and proactively addresses scheduling gaps or changes.

Generates reports and maintains databases related to faculty recruitment, assignments, and clinical coverage.

Supports orientation and provides communication for new and returning clinical faculty.

Assists with faculty scheduling, tracks faculty and student volunteer hours and maintains paperwork as required.

Coordinates daily tasks related to one or more assigned components of overall programs and/or services as assigned.

Regularly communicates with supervisor and other staff, including student workers, as required or needed in the completion of daily tasks in support of overall goals and objectives.

Prepares and maintains accurate records of daily tasks in accordance with applicable policies and procedures and assures timely communication with supervisor, staff, and students where appropriate.

Gathers data and prepares reports and other information/documentation for supervisory review?related to programs and/or services, or one or more assigned components.

Prepares for and attends events.

Remains informed of current developments and procedures pertinent to duties; participates in staff development activities; attends meetings, conferences, and other events.

Other Functions and Responsibilities:
Assists with training new hires.

Performs other duties as assigned and/or required that are within the level of responsibility for this classification at the discretion of the supervisor.

Equipment Operated:
Computer and all other standard office equipment.

Work Schedule:
Typically, Monday through Friday.

Primary Location:
Youngstown

Supervision Exercised:
May exercise supervision over student employees.

Director, Centofanti School of Nursing

Qualifications and Competencies

Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: None

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of: university policies and procedures*; office practices and procedures; department/division goals and objectives*; department/division policies and procedures*; workplace safety practices and procedures*; English grammar and spelling; records management; office management.

Skill in: use of office equipment; typing, data entry; computer operation; use of computer software and other programs applicable to the assigned department/division*.

Minimum Qualifications:
At least a bachelor’s degree; six months or more of experience in healthcare administration, education administration, business, or related field; and experience in academic administration, healthcare staffing, scheduling, or faculty coordination.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree. Experience working in higher education. Familiarity with clinical placement processes, credentialing, or healthcare compliance requirements.
