Job Description

Redlands Community College is seeking a motivated individual to fill the Coordinator for the Scholars for Excellence in Child Care (SECC) position. This is a 12-month, full-time, grant funded position. The Coordinator will play a critical role in recruiting eligible childcare providers in the field of child development/early childhood education and childcare administration/management. The position is responsible for leading recruitment, advising, and overall scholar support to ensure program success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create new files/scholar caseloads and update existing scholar files as needed
  • Maintain specific information for each scholar program
  • Submit enrollment and semester reports to the Scholar’s program in accordance with program guidelines
  • Develop and manage an Individual Scholar Program Plan (ISPP)
  • Communicate and provide assistance to scholars during the various college processes, according to the Scholars program guidelines
  • Recruit new students that meet the program’s qualifications, and provide an orientation to those students
  • Provide technical assistance to those scholars recruited into the program, such as assistance with FAFSA, Tutoring Center, Admissions, Testing Center, Library, etc.
  • Use Appreciative Advising techniques when recruiting, advising, and assisting scholars
  • Assist non-caseload scholars with application and enrollment procedures required

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, Human Services, or a related field
  • Experience in academic advising, student support services, or program coordination in a higher education or community-based setting
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel with proficiency
  • Must have a valid Driver’s license and the ability to travel
  • Requires strong attention to detail and excellent customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Higher Education Administration, or a related field
  • Knowledge of Oklahoma’s early childhood systems and partnerships (e.g., OKDHS, childcare providers, CDA certification)

Clery Statement

Redlands Community College is committed to providing a safe place to live, work, study and visit. Part of this effort includes sharing information regarding the safety and security of our campuses.

Redlands provides email notifications to all students, faculty and staff when a Clery Crime occurs in or near Redlands Community College campus or any of its sites. These notifications are primarily sent if the incident poses an ongoing safety threat as determined by the President of the College or his designee. The act requires colleges and universities to make “timely warnings,” known as “Safety Alerts” at Redlands, to campus community members about specific types of crime if an ongoing threat is believed to exist.
