Position Summary:

The Coordinator of Alumni Engagement is primarily responsible for building and strengthening alumni engagement that directly supports University priorities and initiatives. This will be accomplished by managing the advancement website and social networks, planning and implementing engagement opportunities with alumni and campus departments to foster lifelong mutually enriching connections, and creating an inclusive community among alumni and friends of Arkansas Tech. This position is full-time with some evening and weekend requirements. The Coordinator of Alumni Engagement reports directly to the Director of Alumni Relations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain and update the Advancement Division website, www.atualumni.com, and work with those responsible for the university website, www.atu.edu to provide up-to-date information.

Maintain and update the alumni/advancement social networking sites (Facebook, X, Instagram, etc.) with up-to-date information consistent with the advancement division communication plan.

Manage the Alumni Mentorship Program.

Recruit Alumni to participate as mentors to current students.

Partner with Career Services to ensure the programs success.

Assist with the functions of the Presidential Leadership Cabinet (PLC) to fully support the needs of the president's office and advancement division.

Within PLC, continue to build a culture of student engagement through the Tradition Keeper program and other venues that will help carry over into creating continued connections after graduation.

Event management and logistics.

Included but not limited to: Homecoming; other alumni/development events; help create alumni and friends opportunities with events to ensure proper coverage, set-up, and staffing; post-event evaluations to improve the same and similar events going forward.

Partner with on-campus departments for alumni and friends to engage in on and off-campus events for recruiting incoming students.

Included but not limited to: Time Out For Tech; academic scholarship award assemblies; summer send-offs; college fairs; campus tours.

Create opportunities and awareness with on-campus departments for upper-class students to encourage them to stay connected to the university after graduation.

Included but not limited to: Alumni Mentorship Program, Breakfast During Finals; job fairs; grad fairs.

Provide support for MARCOMM with the publication of the Tech Action and any other communication content.

Stay updated with all technology and currently used web-based and content management systems to maximize use.

Assess new programs being offered for implementation that will benefit the mission of the Advancement Division and support the University.

Work with the Development Office in identifying alumni and friends who can support the vision, mission, and advancement of the University.

Support the strategic plan of the University.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization.

Ability to work nights and weekends and limited travel, as required.

Familiar with Microsoft Office and have a high level of comfort with technology.

Demonstrated experience in working with databases, websites, and social media.

Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with the iModules platform.

Experience with Ellucian Banner products.

Experience with Adobe Suite and/or graphic design.

Familiarity with HTML language and/or CSS.

Event planning and/or volunteer management experience preferred.

Prior alumni relations experience is a plus.

Work Location, Environment, and Physical Demands:

Ability to lift light objects as needed.
