Coordinator of Clinical Education, Athletic Training

Wheeling University invites applications for a full-time twelve-month position as the Clinical Education Coordinator in the Master of Science of Athletic Training Program. The successful applicant will be an Athletic Trainer certified by the Board of Certification who has earned a Master of Science of Athletic Training, a Master of Science in a related field, or a Doctorate in a related field.

Responsibilities:
  • Didactic instruction to the students in the MSAT program, assisting in processes for accreditation, and serving as the Clinical Education Coordinator.
  • Preparation of course syllabi and materials and assignment of grades.
  • Establishing and maintaining affiliation agreements for clinical partners
  • securing student placement and overseeing students in Clinical Education experiences
  • Additional faculty responsibilities include recruiting and advising students, committee participation, course and program assessment, and research.
  • BOC certification in good standing and eligible for West Virginia State Licensure is required.
  • A Master of Science of Athletic Training, a Master of Science in a related field, or a Doctorate in a related field is required.
  • Demonstrated record of leadership within an accredited program and the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and faculty
  • Minimum of three years of clinical Athletic Training practice/experience/supervision of Certified Athletic Trainers and/or students is preferred.
  • Previous academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the postsecondary level is preferred.
