The Coordinator of Student Activities directly contributes to the creation of a lively, diverse, and engaging social experience and programming for students at Delaware Valley University. Through their work, the coordinator encourages student involvement and university engagement through programming and events for students. This role coordinates, manages, and partners with students, organizations, and campus departments to create and sustain vibrant student activities and student life at the University. This position requires creativity, initiative, and follow through, while working collaboratively with others in the department and university community. The ability to organize and balance multiple initiatives simultaneously, skill with promotion and social media marketing, and a desire to facilitate diverse student interests are key to success.

Develop and implement an innovative and diverse schedule of programs, events, and trips with attention to weekends and the residential experience

Advise the Student Programming Board and Students for Diversity organizations; Create leadership development training and opportunities for student membership

Facilitate the Greek life Process for active organizations including training, recruitment and education processes, policies, etc.

Interface with outside booking agents and other entities in partnership with student organization leadership

Coordinate the late night and weekend programs for the Office of Student Involvement as needed

Develop and conduct assessments to determine campus programming needs; plan and implement programs and events that meet identified needs and established goals

Regularly review campus calendar to determine if there are times during the semester where campus activities are needed to bolster student engagement

Creatively market and promote programs and events throughout the academic year to engage and connect students at the university

Oversee the daily operations and management of the university’s food cupboard (Caesar’s Cupboard) including training for student workers, inventory management, order fulfillment, collaboration for grant materials)

Coordinate the 7 in 7 student engagement initiative including attendance tracking, student outreach, and analysis of student engagement records.

Assist with priority department and division events including but not limited to Orientation, Welcome Weekend, Homecoming, Commencement, etc.

Manage budgets, expenses, and contracts related to student activities and initiatives.

Manage online space reservation requests for club and organization meetings and events.

Perform other duties as assigned

Ability to work with students to achieve motivated buy-in for a vibrant student culture

Understand and articulate the role an engaging campus life experience and how it plays in fostering student satisfaction and retention

Ability to work effectively in collegiate setting with students, faculty, administrators, staff and the public

Knowledge of and skill in budgeting, event planning, and event logistics

The ability to manage multiple priorities to successful completion

Master's degree preferred in a related field (Higher Education, Student Affairs/Personnel, or Counseling)

Bachelor’s degree with 1 to 3 years of relevant experience may be considered
