We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Digital Copywriter to lead the development of compelling digital copy and user-first content strategies across Medforth’s brands, with a primary focus on St. George’s University (SGU). This role is responsible for translating complex concepts into clear, engaging copy that drives performance and aligns with our marketing goals across the whole digital ecosystem—web, paid media, email, and more.
As a member of the creative team, you will work closely with the creative team, marketing, integration, and communication teams to ensure our storytelling is cohesive, effective, and optimized for every stage of the prospective student journey. You’ll bring a mix of UX writing, performance copywriting, and brand voice expertise to shape digital experiences and grow engagement across platforms.
Essential Functions
Digital Copy Strategy & Execution
- Lead the development and execution of a digital copy strategy that supports brand storytelling and marketing performance.
- Translate complex education offerings into engaging, action-oriented content across websites, landing pages, and interactive tools.
- Collaborate with digital, brand, and SEO teams to deliver content that converts.
UX Writing & Content Optimization
- Write thoughtful, intuitive copy for CTAs, forms, page layouts, and digital experiences to guide users through seamless journeys.
- Partner with UX and design teams to ensure consistency and clarity in digital interactions.
- Regularly audit and optimize copy across platforms based on data and UX best practices.
Email Marketing & Nurture Journeys
- Write and optimize email content for automated journeys, one-off campaigns, and lead nurturing sequences.
- Ensure messaging is tailored to audience segments and aligned with recruitment goals.
Paid Media & Ad Copy
- Create high-performing copy for paid search, display, social, and video campaigns in collaboration with the paid media team.
- Test and iterate ad copy to maximize engagement, CTR, and conversion rates.
SEO & Blog Content
- Write and optimize SEO-driven content in partnership with the SEO team to improve organic visibility and rankings.
- Support the editorial calendar by crafting blog posts and long-form pieces that support key brand narratives and strategic initiatives.
Video Scriptwriting
- Craft clear, engaging scripts for video content, including student/alumni features, brand campaigns, explainers, and recruitment videos.
Brand & Editorial Consistency
- Ensure all content adheres to SGU and Medforth brand guidelines for tone, messaging, and visual alignment.
- Act as a content lead for creative reviews and provide guidance to junior copywriters as needed.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with creative, digital, CRM, recruitment, and academic teams to align on messaging priorities and deliverables.
- Support the integration of digital content into multi-channel marketing campaigns.
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Expertise in UX writing and digital experience design principles.
- Advanced understanding of SEO, SEM, and content performance metrics.
- Experience writing for email, paid media, video, and social platforms.
- Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) and familiarity with tools like Google Analytics, SEMrush, and marketing automation platforms.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational and time management skills.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in digital copywriting, UX content strategy, or related roles.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating mastery of performance-based and brand-first content across platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.

Hours and Travel
- A typical work week is 37.5 hours Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm.
- This job may require occasional travel as appropriate for department initiatives.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $59,500.00 - $70,000.00 per year
