Copywriter Intern

You'll gain hands-on experience by supporting our dynamic team, acting as the crucial in-office liaison between internal staff and freelance writers, and performing essential quality assurance for our daily launches. The Copywriter Intern will work directly under the Senior Copywriter, within the broader creative team, playing a vital support role across all digital channels.

Job Responsibilities:

Copywriting and Content Support

• Support the Senior Copywriter in a variety of ways, from giving opinions when asked and drafting your own original copy when needed, to making updates based on licensor feedback and helping with our product naming process.

• Proofread a variety of content across all channels, including social media captions, email copy, product names, product descriptions, and website copy updates.

Workflow Coordination & QA Liaison

• Act as an integral Point of Contact (POC) for the creative team, facilitating communication and providing quick, on-the-fly correspondence via Slack.

• Manage the initial review and organization of submission decks, ensuring all required components are present before handing them to the Senior Copywriter.

• Perform crucial Quality Assurance (QA) on all outgoing emails and campaigns, meticulously reviewing copy, testing all links, and verifying product information before deployment.

Internal Access and Resource Management

• Be an in-office resource for access to back-end company documents, archived campaign materials, and internal presentation decks that are typically unavailable to remote freelancers.

• Assist in compiling and organizing final copy assets for various launches, ensuring a clean and consistent repository of messaging.

What you bring to the table

• Writing chops. Starting off with the obvious here, but we need an intern who has mastered their skill to write clear, concise, error-free copy.

• Humor. This might feel like an easy one to gloss over, but a sharp sense of humor is a necessary skill for this job.

• Pop culture obsession, especially ‘80s, ‘90s, and early ‘00s. Our business model relies heavily on licensed IP—everything from The Office to Nickelodeon, Disney to WWE. We need an intern who is familiar with most, if not all, of our licenses so they can make and understand references that a superfan would appreciate.

• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. We’re constantly shouting ideas at each other and testing things on the fly.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a Journalism, English, Marketing, Communications, or creative writing program.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong understanding of grammar, syntax, and flow.
• A sharp sense of humor and the ability to adopt the playful, confident, and sometimes outrageous RSVLTS brand voice.
• A genuine obsession with pop culture, licensed IP (movies, TV, sports, nostalgia), and current social media trends.
• Highly responsive and detail-oriented, with a proven ability to manage multiple small tasks and deadlines.
• Comfortable and proactive with digital communication tools (like Slack) and collaborative work environments.
• A portfolio that shows strong writing examples.
• Knowledge of current and upcoming social platforms.
• Experience with SEO and email marketing.
