Corporate Accounting & Reporting Analyst (III or IV)

JOB SUMMARY:

Provides accounting, finance, and analytical support in the verification, control, and processing of work activities in respective area. Conducts the development and implementation of accounting procedures and systems to assure proper and effective financial reporting and compliance; and provide research and accounting assistance to others. Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and data requests for management, internal departments, and external entities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Corporate Accounting & Reporting Analyst III

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; and
  • Four years’ related accounting experience.

Corporate Accounting & Reporting Analyst IV

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; and
  • Six years' related accounting experience.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accumulates, calculates, coordinates, and records monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting estimates and amortizations, for Everus operating companies, to ensure proper accounting and allocation: including book depreciation, financial forecast updates, current and deferred income taxes, central cash activity and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual internal statements and financial reports: accumulate data, analyze income, cash flows and margin statements, research and write concise and accurate explanations of variances and changes, prepare associated supporting documents.
  • Prepares analyses, reports and data requests for management, internal departments, governmental agencies, and external entities.
  • Designs, completes, and maintains spreadsheets and databases necessary for assigned duties. Assists in the maintenance, enhancement, and implementation of accounting and financial application software.
  • Complies with GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley standards; calculation, accumulation and reporting of financial data relating to new or existing FASBs or other accounting pronouncements.
  • Coordinates the preparation and administration of the annual capital and operating and maintenance budgets, the operating plan, and the five-year financial forecast.
  • Assists in leading the monthly revenue accounting financial close and the timely and accurate reporting and analysis of revenues, accounts receivable aging, and other related financial reports, both routine and ad-hoc. Monitors transaction results to ensure proper recording in the general ledger. Reviews and corrects system issues.
  • Accumulates, investigates, and interprets data necessary to calculate a potential acquisition's valuation and forecast model to analyze and discuss the acquisition's possible financial benefits with management.
  • Responsible for the preparation of data request responses, and various management analyses.
  • Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.

KEY SKILLS AND COMPENTENCIES:

  • Excellent analytical skills, organizational skills and a high degree of independent judgment and ingenuity.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting methods and procedures and applicable financial statement preparation methods and requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of corporate financial data.
  • Excellent human relations skills in dealing with associates, other departments, operating company personnel, external auditors, attorneys, and consultants.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge and understanding of financial / accounting impact of invoicing and accounts receivable and/or accounts payable transactions.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to accomplish multiple tasks within tight deadlines and the ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Work at an advanced level with minimal supervision or specific instruction.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CPA or professional certification preferred.
  • Construction accounting experience.
  • Viewpoint Spectrum experience.
