SoftBank Robotics, the global leader in robotics and workplace task automation, is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join our fast-growing team that is making the future attainable today through artificial intelligence and robotics. The ideal candidate for our SoftBank Robotics America (SBRA) team understands that automation is the next big technological shift - comparable to the introduction of the smartphone - and wants to be a part of the movement, helping clients successfully transform their businesses processes and teams through cutting-edge innovation.

Reporting directly to the General Counsel and remote work is possible. The SoftBank Robotics America (SBRA) Law Department provides business and legal support to the Company’s operations in the United States. The Corporate Counsel is responsible for supporting the Company’s (including affiliated entities’, as needed) business by providing support for corporate governance, commercial transactions, and cross-functional operations with the employment, finance, product, and IT teams.

To succeed in this role you must be diligent, detail oriented, well-organized, curious, collaborative, and comfortable with ambiguity. You will be a fast learner, you will thrive in a cross functional environment, and you will be an expert communicator, understanding that the only way to meet ambitious goals is to work and learn together.

Requirements:
  • Support global expansion and high growth robotics business.
  • Assist with corporate filings, audits, and developing policies and controls.
  • Review, revise, and negotiate Sales Agreements, NDAs, Loan Agreements, Master Agreements, and Vendor Agreements.
  • Advise on compliance with complex federal and state regulations including product safety, importing/exporting, OSHA, and data privacy and security.
  • Work closely with the employment and finance teams from onboarding to state and jurisdiction level registrations and reporting.
  • Collaborate with the IT and product teams on information security matters, data security agreements, and third-party vendor onboarding.
  • Other duties as assigned

Candidate Qualifications:

  • JD from top accredited Law school with 5-7+ years as a corporate or transactional attorney in any combination of law firm or in-house experience
  • Admission to the Bar in at least one state is required, California or Massachusetts is required
  • Ability to convey legal advice clearly and effectively
  • Sound analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels
  • Team player and consensus builder with an ability to work independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize simultaneous responsibilities
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills, follow-up, and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated track record of successful performance of job duties
  • Ability and willingness to learn new things
  • Proven knowledge of MS Office products
