Summary/Purpose
The Corporate Counsel will provide legal advice, support, and strategic guidance on general commercial matters as may be assigned, employment matters, including advising on employment issues, conducting investigations, developing and implementing employment policies and procedures and advising on employee corrective counseling and terminations. This individual will also oversee the Company’s Compliance Program in North America, including assisting in investigations, preparing and reviewing investigation reports and communications, policies and procedures and identifying areas for continued improvement, as well as with assisting and managing litigation matters as may be assigned.
Essential Duties and Accountabilities:- Advise HR and management on day-to-day employment law and labor relations issues, including hiring; employee relations; discipline and terminations; recruiting; compliance with employment laws across multiple jurisdictions; EEO complaints; and employee benefits.
- Advise the businesses on key areas of compliance.
- Oversee and manage outside counsel on all litigation, compliance/claims and disputes.
- Responsible for tracking, documenting and maintaining corporate books and related
governance matters.
- Provide leadership, guidance and support on compliance and ethics issues, including policy interpretation and compliance risk assessment
- Develop and deliver training to supervisors and managers on a variety of legal topics, including employment and compliance matters.
- Analyze and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, as well as provide guidance to the business on contractual disputes.
- Clear, succinct verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Able to work effectively with all levels of management, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with consistently high-quality work product.
- Other tasks as may be assigned by the General Counsel or Deputy General Counsel.
Supervisory Responsibilities:- This position does not currently have supervisory responsibilities but may at some future point depending upon success and experience.

Education and Experience:
J.D. from an ABA accredited law school and membership in good standing in at least one State bar.
Minimum of 6 years of directly relevant legal experience with significant exposure to labor and employment issues. In-house experience is a plus but is not a requirement.
Experience working with employees from diverse backgrounds.
Experience working effectively with colleagues in different countries, respecting cultural nuances, and managing communication across various time zones.

- Work is mostly performed in a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards, and with substantial time spent working on a computer. Requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard and other office equipment.
- The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
- Travel by automobile and plane required approximately 10-20% of time.
