Corporate Counsel - Litigation and Investigations

Role: Corporate Counsel - Litigation and Investigations

Location: New York, NY or Edison, NJ. Candidate must work from one of these offices 5 days a week.


Job Description:

Primary responsibilities:

• Assisting in the management of any and all commercial disputes, litigations, arbitrations, and investigations towards cost-effective resolutions

• Responding to subpoenas, civil investigative demands, and similar information requests

• Managing regulatory and compliance issues in a variety of subject areas, including data security, export controls, and immigration

• Coordinating discovery, including document collection and production

• Overseeing and managing outside counsel as needed

• Assisting with special projects as may be assigned


Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• J.D. or equivalent from an accredited U.S. law school

• Admission to practice law in the states of New York and/or New Jersey, or the ability to promptly register as in-house counsel within one of those states

• Five to seven years experience with complex commercial litigation or governmental investigations at a major law firm, corporate law department, or governmental agency

• Experience overseeing and managing internal investigations

• Strong negotiation and presentation skills

• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

• Experience leading and guiding team members

• Ability to perform independently as well as part of a team

• Familiarity with legal issues affecting a global corporation, particularly within the IT consulting industry
