Corporate Strategy & Finance Analyst

We're looking for a curious, detail-oriented FP&A Analyst to join our Corporate Finance team. You'll partner closely with department leaders, VP of Finance, and senior finance staff to support the planning, reporting, and analysis processes that keep the business running with clarity and confidence.

The ideal candidate is equally adept at rigorous data analytics and crafting the narrative around it — translating the numbers into insights that illuminate where the business stands today and sharpen our thinking on where it should go.

Please note that this is an onsite role in our Birmingham, Alabama office.


KEY SUCCESS METRICS

  • You bring forward ideas for monitoring and enhancing cost structure, grounded in insights gained through collaboration with department leaders and analytics
  • Reporting is consistently accurate and delivered on time within a fast-moving cycle
  • You’ve identified and/or implemented at least one meaningful automation or process improvement in your first year
  • Data transformation work reduces inconsistencies and produces clean, reportable outputs
  • Your analysis reflects both precision and perspective — the numbers tell a story

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Corporate Financial Planning, Department Spend and Vendor Analytics

  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual corporate expense forecasting cycles
  • Lead the annual budgeting process in partnership with department leaders
  • Prepare and assist with executive and department reporting packages
  • Conduct variance analysis against budget and prior periods with clear narrative explanations
  • Present budget analysis to department leaders and senior leadership
  • Support automation initiatives to streamline reporting and reduce manual effort
  • Perform data validation to ensure accuracy and integrity across financial systems
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects and analyses as business needs evolve

  • Basis knowledge of unit economics to form and support underlying drivers.
  • Operational mindset in realizing effective impact of current and changes in spend behavior.
  • Delineating between capitalized, fixed, and variable costs and their effect in an acquisitive business.

DATA ANALYTICS & TECHNOLOGY

  • Leverages advanced Excel, Adaptive Planning, and Power BI to build robust models and reporting.
  • Comfortable working with large datasets and transforming raw data into clean, reportable outputs.
  • Proactively seeks opportunities to leverage AI tools to automate manual workstreams and improve efficiency.
  • Identifies and resolves data inconsistencies before they impact reporting outcomes.
  • Stays current on emerging tools and technologies that can enhance finance team capabilities.

FINANCIAL STEWARDSHIP

  • Partners effectively with department leaders to understand business context behind the numbers.
  • Builds trusted relationships that make financial processes collaborative rather than transactional.
  • Advocates for data accuracy and financial rigor across the organization.
  • Aligns financial planning activities with broader organizational priorities and strategic goals.
  • Navigates ambiguity and competing priorities with professionalism and a solutions mindset.

  • Translates complex financial data into clear, executive-ready narratives and visualizations.
  • Tailors communication style for different audiences, from department managers to senior leadership.
  • Presents findings with confidence while remaining open to questions and dialogue.
  • Constructs compelling narratives that connect financial trends to strategic implications.
  • Follows through consistently, ensuring stakeholders receive accurate information on time.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • 2 – 4 years of accounting, finance, business analytics experience
  • CPA or CFA, a plus
  • Education focused on accounting, finance, data analytics, or similar studies
  • Experience of a PE backed company or similar exposure to a growth / scale-oriented environment
  • Reside in the Birmingham, AL area and work onsite.
