Correctional Officer

As a Correctional Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining safety and security within The Franklin County Regional Jail. You will be responsible for overseeing inmates and enforcing rules and regulations to ensure a secure environment.

Duties
- Supervise and monitor inmate activities.
- Conduct regular inspections of cells, common areas, and inmates for contraband
- Enforce facility rules and regulations fairly and consistently
- Escort inmates within the facility for various activities
- Respond to emergencies, such as fights or medical situations, following established procedures
- Write detailed reports on incidents, conduct, and inmate behavior

Skills
- Strong conflict management skills to handle challenging situations effectively
- Proficient in report writing to document incidents accurately
- Background in law enforcement or military is beneficial
- Possession of relevant certificates related to corrections or law enforcement

*Must have no felony, or serious misdemeanor convictions or be under indictment.

*Must have a high school diploma or GED.

*Must submit a drug screen.

*Must pass a background check.

*Must be a US citizen.

*Must be 21 years of age.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
