Overview
The Correctional Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining safety and security within correctional facilities. This position involves supervising inmates, enforcing rules and regulations, and ensuring a safe environment for both staff and inmates. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a commitment to upholding the law, and the ability to manage conflicts effectively.

Duties

  • Supervise inmate activities and ensure compliance with facility rules and regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility to maintain security and safety standards.
  • Prepare detailed reports on inmate behavior, incidents, and daily activities.
  • Manage conflicts among inmates using effective conflict management techniques.
  • Respond to emergencies, including medical situations, utilizing CPR and first aid skills as necessary.
  • Monitor surveillance systems (CCTV) to observe inmate behavior and identify potential security threats.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary to ensure proper procedures are followed.
  • Maintain accurate records of inmate interactions and incidents for reporting purposes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $17.50 per hour
