Position Summary
This position is responsible for the treatment, security, and general living conditions of all inmates assigned to the section. The position is also an administrator responsible for all activities within his/her section and the development, implementation, and monitoring of overall security, goals, policies, and procedures of the institution. This section manager is responsible for the security program for areas of the institution including central control, the armory, towers, perimeter, program areas, visiting, reception, training, mail, and property. Additionally, this position directs institution and department-wide programs.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule/range 81-02 with an annual salary of
$67371- $119350
, plus excellent benefits. Pay on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the Compensation Plan, Wisconsin Administrative Code, and statutes. A 2-year Career Executive trial period is required.

Job Details
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
This position is NOT eligible to work remotely.
Qualifications
The qualifications listed below will be evaluated in the first step of the selection process and must be clearly described in the letter of qualification and resume:
Minimally Qualified Applicants Will Have Experience

Developing, implementing, and monitoring policies and procedures for a 24/7 operation
-
Supervising staff (e.g., hiring, training, assigning and directing work, performance evaluations, etc.)

Working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team in a correctional setting
-
Directing, implementing, and evaluating security standards
In addition to the Acceptable, well qualified applicant will have experience in:

Investigating staff and/or inmate misconduct allegations
